Nolok Babu, who topped the media talent hunt in music, styled Close Up-1 Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh, has been sued in a criminal lawsuit as the overnight star reportedly become deeply mired in various misdeeds including debauchery, reckless driving, drug addiction, and misbehaviour.
Touhidul Islam, a post-graduate student of peace and conflict studies at Dhaka University, filed the case with Gulshan police station Tuesday evening accusing Nolok and some of his associates of assaulting and swearing at him.
Nolok’s car hit Touhid at Shahjadpur when he was crossing the busy road on Tuesday, the plaintiff told news agency BDNews24.
‘As I protested, Nolok and three to four of his companions came out of the car and swore at me. At one stage, Nolok attacked me physically,’ Touhid described. ‘Do you know who I am,’ he quoted Nolok as asking him.
Faruk Ahmed, a sub-inspector of the Gulshan police, has been assigned as the investigation officer of the case. Faruk said he was looking for Nolok to arrest him.
Nolok however denied the charges while talking over telephone to the news agency. ‘I didn’t do anything.’
It is widely alleged that he along with his friends often indulge in anti-social and criminal activities.
He picked a quarrel with the security personnel at the American embassy in August when he went there to face an interview for visa.
He was also denied a USA visa as he tested positive for drug abuse.
About the case filed against him, Nolok told New Age on Wednesday that he did not give a damn about it and was busy getting a Canadian visa.
